Nangkartshang Peak 5,083 m
The trek to Nangkartshang Peak (also known as Nagarjun Peak) is one of the most popular acclimatization hikes. The peak stands at a moderate elevation of 5,083 meters and serves as an ideal altitude acclimatization hike on the way to Everest Base Camp.
Nangkartshang is considered one of the best vantage points in the Khumbu region, as it offers an almost complete 360-degree panorama. The view of Ama Dablam, which towers directly opposite, is particularly impressive. In addition, three eight-thousanders—Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu are visible.
Nangkartshang Peak
Start: Dingboche (4,336 m)
Elevation gain: 750 m
Distance: 3 km, Duration: 3–5 hours
The trail begins right on the northern edge of Dingboche, behind the fields, and initially climbs gently over rugged terrain. The final few meters to the highest point may require some light scrambling over large rocks.
